Computer Classes

Classes are taught by Jennifer and are held on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Persons who successfully complete all four course modules will earn a computer of their own and a free six month hook up to the Internet courtesy of ACD.net

The classes are open to Edgewood Village residents, Head Start parents, and Towar Garden community members. There is a $10 course fee due at the end of the class.

In addition to beginning courses there are Extended Education Classes. These include courses such as Windows XP, Word 2007, Office and Excel. About one third of the beginning students return to take Extended Learning Classes. The Windows XP Class is very popular. Those who complete the Extended Education Classes can earn computer related products such as a printer, software or a flash drive. The classes are free, but advanced registration is required.

For more information or enrollment please call Jennifer Phillips at 517-827-1159.

A Tribute from a Computer Learning Center Student

"I just wanted to express how much I enjoyed taking the computer class offered at Edgewood Village. It was a great experience and worth the drive, coming from Bancroft, to learn with Jennifer. Not only was she a great teacher but witty and fun at the same time. I admit I knew a lot of the information offered in the modules but did learn some awesome information that I have already put to use in my home and my parents. I am greatly considering going back to learn more and take some courses to update my knowledge in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Appreciation is an understatement on how I feel for this class and program. It is a great thing Jennifer and her staff does for parents with little income to be able to get some great knowledge and a computer at the same time for such little money. I know she puts in a lot of time and effort and I can really tell she loves what she does. I truly hope this program continues far into the future because it is needed and truly a wonderful gift for mom's especially that want to better themselves and the future of their children.

Thanks a lot!
I mean this from my heart!

God Bless,

Danielle S.
